I just came across this post over at The Coveted about embracing true beauty and giving back. I especially like the advice given by Kathleena Gorga, a makeup artist in the San Francisco/Bay Area who specializes in helping women express their unique beauty.
Kathleena advises that we should practice the Daily Beauty Embrace which consists of asking the question: What is the most loving and life-affirming action that I am willing to take today for my body, mind, spirit, heart?
One of the things that I have been working on to get in touch with my inner beauty is to be present in my body and to be aware of my thoughts. It's been said that we have 60,000 thoughts per day!
As much as I like to consider myself a positive person, I know that there are many negative thoughts that run through my mind on a daily basis - especially thoughts about myself and my abilities. Just today I was cursing my flabby tummy and yesterday I was wishing that my legs were more muscular. However, now that I'm more conscious about my thoughts, I've been able to stop those thoughts from going viral and refocus my attention on just embracing my overall beauty. It's definitely a work in progress.
Do you have any tips on how to get in touch with your inner beauty?
