"I do not care what anybody has to say about me...I'm definitely at that point where I love myself and I'm proud of myself, and I can look at my reflection...and I'm Ok with it..."
This is what Jessica Simpson says in this interview on "Good Morning America". The pop diva has a new reality show on VH1 called "The Price of Beauty" where she travels and learns what beauty means to women all over the world.
You may recall last year the media frenzy around Jessica's weight gain last year. As we all know, in the celebrity world, a gain of just 10 pounds apparently attracts about as much attention as a sex scandal.
I have only watched the first few minutes of the episode where Jessica goes to Paris. I stopped watching when they went to the French spa. However, you can read Sarah Seltzer's thoughts and perspective.
It is interesting to see how other countries view of beauty and the rituals they go through to achieve that ideal. However, the bottom line is that we all want to be at peace with ourselves and be happy. Unfortunately, too many of us think we'll be happy when we can look like our favorite celebrity. We fall prey to society's definition of beauty. Little do we know that we are already beautiful and all it takes to be happy is to choose to be happy. It really is just a choice. Happy or sad? Beautiful or ugly? The choice is yours.
