I've been deeply saddened by the passing of Michael Jackson. He was a soul whose purpose was to unite people through his music - and he certainly accomplished that. However, there is one big lesson that all of us can take away from Michael Jackson's story - that not having love for yourself can be highly destructive
I'm not here to criticize or condemn Michael Jackson for what he did to himself. I am a true fan and appreciated everything he did no matter what he looked like. It's just sad that he allowed other people's opinions of him to change how he felt about himself.

Each one of us has our own definition of what beauty is. Nancy Arroyo-Perez describes what beauty means to her. I like this part of her post:
There is beauty all around us, you just have to stop and take it all in. I have always loved nature and to see a budding flower, a butterfly, a sunset, freshly fallen snow or two birds cuddling close is the purest forms of beauty. Its natural, there are no touch-ups, no pretense, no untruths.
Most importantly beauty can be found in the acceptance of other people and giving yourself freely to others. Beauty truly is found deep within someone’s soul and in the deepest recesses of the mind.

Beauty pageants are conducted all over the world. Here in the U.S. we have the Miss USA pageant and there's also the famous Miss Universe pageant.
These beauty pageants showcase beautiful women and of course, they all have that outer beauty. The inner beauty of these contestants are not taken much into consideration when judging them.
Well, enter Saudi Arabi's beauty pageant, "Miss Beautiful Morals". Pageant founder Khadra al-Mubarak, says this about this unique beauty pageant:
"We care about the beauty of the soul and the morals."

As I was looking for beauty news to share here, I came across Eva Ritvo and Debra Luftman's blog, The Beauty Prescription: The Complete Guide to Feeling and Looking Beautiful.
Eva and Debra take a deeper look at our beauty-obsessed culture and ask questions like, "What's With All the Diet Books?" and "Why is smoking cool again?"
There are many blogs out there that talk about beauty tips and beauty products, but there are very few that talk about inner beauty. So, it was like a breath of fresh air to come across The Beauty Prescription.
Eva and Debra also have a book with the same title as the blog, The Beauty Prescription: The Complete Formula for Looking and Feeling Beautiful
, which has received 5-star reviews over at Amazon.

Here's a great article that offers some tips on creating inner beauty that is a highly recommended read.
I like this idea:
"Believe that you have an inner self to explore and that you are willing to let yourself develop your innate talents and gifts."
Many women go through life without exploring their inner self and not knowing who they really are. They believe what others think that they should be or do all the while losing themselves in the process.
Spend some time with yourself and ask yourself the following questions:
What do I love to do?
What is my purpose in life?
Just let your subconscious dwell on those questions for awhile. Slowly (or maybe even quickly!) the answers will come to you.
When you're doing what you love and feeling like you're fulfilling your purpose, your inner beauty will begin come out!
