As I was looking for beauty news to share here, I came across Eva Ritvo and Debra Luftman's blog, The Beauty Prescription: The Complete Guide to Feeling and Looking Beautiful.
Eva and Debra take a deeper look at our beauty-obsessed culture and ask questions like, "What's With All the Diet Books?" and "Why is smoking cool again?"
There are many blogs out there that talk about beauty tips and beauty products, but there are very few that talk about inner beauty. So, it was like a breath of fresh air to come across The Beauty Prescription.
Eva and Debra also have a book with the same title as the blog, The Beauty Prescription: The Complete Formula for Looking and Feeling Beautiful
, which has received 5-star reviews over at Amazon.

So we're down to the final three contestants in the reality TV show, "True Beauty": Joel, Julia, and Billy.
Billy and Julia are the only two remaining from my list of the final three contenders. (Refer to my previous post, TV Show Review, 'True Beauty') From the episodes I've seen up to this point, my guess is that Billy will be the last man standing.
Billy is the down-to-earth, humble guy from Idaho who is a vitamin swallowing health nut by day and a Chippendale dancer by night. Sure, he's made a couple mistakes during the coarse of the show. For instance, he could've shown better character during the episode with the crying fashion stylist. But overall, I think he's the one who has proven that he has beauty both inside and out.
However, on second thought, Julia has also shown us some true inner beauty as well.
Either way, though, they're both winners ;)
On a side note, I was wondering how the producers of the show are going to pull off a second season. Won't future contestants be aware of the real reason they're on the show?

Here's a great article that offers some tips on creating inner beauty that is a highly recommended read.
I like this idea:
"Believe that you have an inner self to explore and that you are willing to let yourself develop your innate talents and gifts."
Many women go through life without exploring their inner self and not knowing who they really are. They believe what others think that they should be or do all the while losing themselves in the process.
Spend some time with yourself and ask yourself the following questions:
What do I love to do?
What is my purpose in life?
Just let your subconscious dwell on those questions for awhile. Slowly (or maybe even quickly!) the answers will come to you.
When you're doing what you love and feeling like you're fulfilling your purpose, your inner beauty will begin come out!

Here is an interesting article in which the author states that reality TV shouldn't be our standard of true beauty. It's an interesting perspective and something to consider. There are a few comments posted to think about as well.
So, what do you think?
Is America too obsessed with outward appearances?
