I just came across this post over at The Coveted about embracing true beauty and giving back. I especially like the advice given by Kathleena Gorga, a makeup artist in the San Francisco/Bay Area who specializes in helping women express their unique beauty.

One of my favorite style shows to watch on TV is What Not to Wear because they take these women and give them a makeover so that their outer beauty is matching their inner beauty. Every time the transition to the proverbial butterfly is so inspiring that it makes me want to become a stylist and help women feel beautiful from the inside-out.

Yes, you have to feel beautiful on the inside to be beautiful on the outside. And when you enhance the beauty on the outside to match the inside, you feel more confident and your self-esteem goes up.

Is Marriage Overrated?

This whole idea of marriage has been on my mind lately. There seems to be a great deal of emphasis on the idea of being married in our society, which has caused unnecessary stress on many women.

I think that for some women, they feel like they’re not “complete” until they have that ring on their finger. They stress out and get depressed searching in vain for Mr. Right instead of just relaxing in the moment and enjoying their freedom while they still have it. (Not that they lose their freedom when they do get married, but it’s different.)

Then when a woman does find that special someone and start planning for a wedding, they turn into Bridezilla - fussing over every little thing. Chill out! Enjoy the moment! Oh, but I digress. Read More...
